Welcome to the stunning South Coast of Iceland! Our tour, South Coast & Katla Ice Cave Tour, begins in the vibrant city of Reykjavik, where we will embark on a scenic journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland’s south coast. Prepare to be awed by the dramatic contrasts of this region, where glaciers, volcanoes, black sand beaches, and cascading waterfalls create a truly unforgettable experience.
Our first stop is the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk behind the falling water and feel the mist on your face. Next, we will visit the magnificent Skógafoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls, where you can climb up to the top for a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.
Our next stop is the famous black sand beach of Reynisfjara, located near the charming coastal town of Vík. The beach’s striking black sand is a result of volcanic activity in the area, and the stunning basalt sea stacks that tower over the coastline create a truly unique and unforgettable view.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the playful puffins that nest in the cliffs above the beach, adding to the already stunning scenery. The North Atlantic Ocean crashes against the shore in a mesmerizing display of power, making Reynisfjara one of Iceland’s most popular and awe-inspiring natural wonders. (Important to keep in mind, and understand, that the puffins are only to be seen between MAY & AUGUST)
Our final adventure on this tour takes us to the Katla ice cave, located near Mýrdalsjökull glacier. This natural wonder is a must-see for anyone looking to explore the hidden treasures of Iceland’s ice formations. The cave’s walls are a dazzling array of crystal blue ice, illuminated by the natural light that filters through the ice.
Our expert guide will lead us through the cave’s winding passages and explain the fascinating geology that created this breathtaking formation. The Katla ice cave tour is the perfect way to end our journey through Iceland’s South Coast, leaving us with memories that will last a lifetime.
