We have a volcanic eruption north of Vatnajökull glacier in an area called Holuhraun, this is the third eruption in the Bárðarbunga region in roughly a week and the largest by far.
It is a magmatic eruption, located about 5 kilometers north of the Dyngjujökull glacier and lava is flowing eastwards from the 1,5 km long fissure in Holuhraun.
The area is closed to all traffic at the moment, we let you if anything changes!
