Last weekend the Arctic Trucks Experience team took a day out of the office, we drove the Arctic Trucks all the way up to Langjökull glacier to check out the new Ice tunnels for our newest trip the Ice cave Adventure.
Langjökull glacier is the second largest in Iceland, 950 km², and now Europe’s largest man-made ice caves are there, stretching 550 m into glacier ice at 30 meters below the surface.
It was an amazing experience and a totally new way to experience the glaciers of Iceland. You can drive the Arctic Truck all the way up to the entrance of the tunnel, there the ice cave guides welcome you and it takes around 1 hour to walk the ice caves and explore the formations of the huge glacier. On the way back we take a mountain road to Þingvellir national park and drive back to Reykjavík.
